Progressive Die Stamping
of a Tin Coated Steel Outer Field Cup for the Automotive Industry
Volkert Precision Technologies, Inc.'s prompt turnaround time adds value for our worldwide customers. For additional details on the progressive die stamped field cup project, see the table below or contact us directly.
An international automotive customer requested steel outer field cups and Volkert Precision Technologies, Inc. produced the parts, using our progressive die stamping on tin coated steel. Our Queens Village, New York facility uses the latest control technologies ensuring high product quality. As a certified ISO 9001 manufacturer, our processes are standardized and guarantee precision and repeatability.
The part featured below is used in fuel injection systems of passenger cars. With customer supplied specifications and 2D CAD drawings, we used our 60-ton Minster press to form outer field cups with diameters of 1.250” and thicknesses 0.024” each. Our high-volume process uses machines featuring cam actuated side slotting. Our operations know-how allowed for finished units maintaining tight tolerances of ± 0.0005”. The package-at-the-press feature is a cost and time saving innovation used within our facility. The packing includes desiccants to ensure corrosion free parts. We performed diverse in-process and finished product inspections to qualify batch quality.
This project represents production of 12 million pieces per year shipped in weekly orders of 250,000 to locations in China and Mexico.
